Punjab government employees have called off their pen-down strike after Chief Secretary KAP Sinha assured them that no punitive action would be taken over their August 27 protest. The employees’ unions said the government’s “no work, no pay” order has also been withdrawn following the meeting with the Chief Secretary. However, the larger battle over demands including Dearness Allowance (DA) remains unresolved, with the unions saying they will continue their fight through legal and other channels.
