A Defence Skill Conclave was held in Chandigarh to deliberate on future challenges and emerging opportunities in India’s defence sector. The event was jointly organised by the Punjab Government and the Ministry of Defence, bringing together policymakers and industry stakeholders. Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora highlighted the state’s longstanding contribution to national defence and said Punjab would continue to play a vital role in strengthening the sector. He termed it an honour for the state government to host the seminar in collaboration with the Defence Ministry. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh said the defence sector is among the fastest-growing in the country, underscoring the Centre’s focus on self-reliance and indigenous technology. He added that under the Sudarshan Chakra Mission, significant investments will be made to reinforce India’s borders, with Punjab expected to receive a major share.
