Pope Leo XIV Recalls Killed Muslim Child, Urges US-Iran Peace Talks And Condemns Capital Punishment

Pope Leo XIV called on the United States and Iran to return to peace negotiations, stressing that dialogue-not war-must guide global diplomacy. Recalling a Muslim child from Lebanon whose photo he carries and who was later killed in the conflict, the Pope condemned unjust killings, opposed capital punishment, and urged world leaders to protect innocent lives and uphold international law.
