PM Modi Gifts Putin Russian Translation Of Thirukkural At BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Russian President Vladimir Putin a Russian translation of the ancient Tamil classic Thirukkural during their meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi. Published by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, the 2026 edition features the original Tamil text, transliteration and Russian translation of verses by Tamil poet-philosopher Thiruvalluvar. The Russian translation was done by Naira Mkrtchyan.
