After an outsized victory in Bengal - she has been re-elected with more seats than in 2011 - Mamata Banerjee spoke to NDTV about her political plans for the future. A congratulatory call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said, denotes no close bond. "Phone call is customary. The matter is democratically, this is customary," Ms Banerjee said. When asked about potentially working with the BJP, perhaps for the next national election, the Chief Minister was pretty categorical in her response. "BJP (way) is to divide and do this Hindu-Muslim category. I don't like all this," she said.
