Lt. General (Retired) Zameer Uddin Shah, who headed the army team sent to tackle violence during Gujarat riots, claims that his troops lost crucial time waiting for logistical support and it was an "administrative failure". Speaking to Shekhar Gupta on Walk The Talk, the former Deputy Army Chief gives out details about his new book 'The Sarkari Mussalman' , how he has not faced much discrimination in army because of religion, and why he thinks more Muslims should enter the forces. The retired Lt. General - who also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University - reminisces the time spent in the army and hopes for people to learn from the army's example of secularism and unity. Shah also discusses his illustrious family, particularly his famous brother, actor Naseeruddin Shah.
