Ukraine's war has become a battle of innovation as much as endurance. More than four years after Russia's invasion, Kyiv remains desperately short of critical air-defence weapons, especially the highly sought-after Patriot missile system. Following a massive Russian aerial assault involving hundreds of drones and missiles, President Volodymyr Zelensky once again appealed for more Patriot interceptors. But with supplies limited and costs soaring, Ukraine is now looking inward: developing cheaper, homegrown missile solutions designed to help defend its skies.
