Russian And Indian Students See Putin’s India Visit As Boost For Education

As President Vladimir Putin is on a state visit to India on the occasion of the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit, students in Moscow say the renewed focus on bilateral ties is set to significantly improve opportunities for youth and strengthen people-to-people engagement. Akhil Raghav, a final-year medical student at First Moscow State Medical University, believes the timing of the visit is “perfect” for deepening cooperation. “It’s going to help students on both sides—whether it’s visa processes, degree recognition or cultural understanding. In the long term, this will benefit thousands,” he said. He added that Russian students “love Indian movies, food and music,” and regularly participate in Indian cultural events on campus. Polina, a student at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), said she expects the visit to open new doors in high-demand areas like space, nuclear technology and artificial intelligence. “We hope to see more scholarships, joint research and structured youth exchange programs,” she noted.
