More than 200 villages across Punjab are inundated as overflowing rivers have damaged the earthen dams. The villagers are disappointed with the state government for not doing enough to avert the floods despite having received alerts from the weather department. The government claims that it carried out the relief and rescue operation on war footing. Many villagers, however, feel that nothing much has been done.
