"Iran Cannot Have Nuclear Weapons": Trump Reiterates Warning Amid Halted Ceasefire Talks

US President Donald Trump reiterated that Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons, warning that Tehran would use them against Israel, the Middle East, Europe, and eventually the United States. Speaking at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches dinner in Florida, Trump said, “It’s not gonna happen,” while stressing that Iran still retains some missile and drone capacity despite recent strikes. Trump also said he was “not satisfied” with Iran’s latest proposal for negotiations, submitted through mediators in Pakistan, as the fragile US-Iran ceasefire entered its third week. During the speech, he again criticised former President George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion of Iraq, calling it a mistake, and also congratulated Iraq’s new prime minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi.
