Indian Army News | Lt General Dhiraj Seth Named Army Chief, To Succeed General Upendra Dwivedi

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth has been appointed the next Chief of the Army Staff and will take charge on June 30, succeeding General Upendra Dwivedi upon his retirement. Currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Lt General Seth brings nearly four decades of military experience across operational, strategic and capability development roles. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Lt General Seth has commanded key formations including the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, South Western Command and Southern Command. Widely recognised for his contributions to force modernisation, he is set to lead the Indian Army at a time of evolving security and technological challenges.
