Ashok Row Kavi, Founder and Former Chairman, Humsafar Trust, and Editor, Bombay Dost at the 12-hour #SwasthyaMantra telethon said that when COVID-19 hit the ground, we could see that the way police treated 'Hijras'. Mr Kavi said that the community is considered as unwanted in the society and they are vulnerable and harassed. He said that the people in the transgender community are human beings, who are vulnerable and need support in terms of livelihood, food, and drinking water.
