NDTV has accessed a strongly-worded letter sent by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, protesting against statements made by the latter in his meeting with editors. NDTV obtained this letter through RTI and it is unprecedented that the CAG would write such a strongly-worded letter to the Prime Minister. Mr Rai met the Prime Minister after this letter but this revelation is likely to only further increase tension between Congress politicians and the CAG.
