A Delhi court today awarded life sentence to Shahzad Ahmed, convicted last week in the controversial 2008 Batla house encounter case. The court also asked the alleged Indian Mujahideen operative to pay a fine of Rs. 95,000 out of which Rs. 40,000 is to be paid to Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma's family and head constable Balwant Singh.
