Air Travel to Get Expensive: Jet Fuel Prices Surge Sharply
A massive spike in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices is set to hit flyers hard-especially on international routes.
Fuel prices for international airlines have surged by over 100%, jumping from around Rs 96,000 to Rs 2,07,000 per kilolitre, while domestic carriers have seen a relatively modest rise of about 8.5%, thanks to government intervention.
