Pilgrimage, Police And Politics In Maharashtra
The opposition attacked the Maharashtra government over a clash between the police and Warkari devotees during a religious procession in Pune yesterday. The incident took place after an argument with the police over entry into the temple. The opposition claimed on one side the BJP appeases Hindu voters, on the other side Hindu devotees are being lathicharged in the state. The government though has denied claims of a lathicharge.
