Pahalgam Attack | Attari Border: Families Torn Apart As Pakistani Nationals Leave India

Pakistani citizens continued returning to their country through the Attari border checkpost in Amritsar on Tuesday, with the deadline for their departure fast approaching. The 'Leave India' notice for Pakistani nationals was issued by the Indian government following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people – mostly tourists – were killed by terrorists linked to Pakistan. The deadline for those holding SAARC visas was April 26, while individuals on medical visas were given until April 29 to leave. Departing Pakistani nationals shared heart-rending stories of separation from their loved ones. They condemned the Pahalgam attack and demanded exemplary punishment for the perpetrators but also expressed anguish that ordinary citizens were being punished despite having done nothing wrong
