North Korea News | Kim Jong-un Awards Troops for Fighting in Russia-Ukraine War

For the first time, North Korea has officially recognised its soldiers for combat service abroad. At a ceremony in Pyongyang, Kim Jong-un awarded medals to DPRK troops and honoured 101 fallen fighters who participated in Russia’s ‘Kursk Oblast liberation operation’. State media confirmed over 10,000 DPRK soldiers are operating alongside Russian forces in Ukraine, following the 2024 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed by Kim and Vladimir Putin.
