Grief and anger continue to mount after the devastating boiler blast at a plant operated by Vedanta Limited, which has claimed at least 24 lives.
Among the victims was Thandaram, an office boy whose family now alleges negligence and an insensitive response from the company. They claim no official visited their home, and instead, they were called to Korba to collect compensation.
The family has also raised serious questions about safety protocols, alleging workers were sent despite prior warnings of technical faults.
As protests grow in the village, locals are demanding accountability, stricter safety standards, and even the shutdown of the plant.
