NDTV Visits Forest Camp Set On Fire Amid Unrest In Meghalaya

Normalcy and calm is yet to return to Mukroh village and the rest of Meghalaya including Shillong with the torching of vehicle and a police booth in Meghalaya's capital last evening. Assam police have restricted entry to Mukroh village where Tuesday’s incident of police firing led to the death of six people including five civilians from Meghalaya and a forest guard from Assam. NDTV was allowed to go till the Assam-Meghalaya border where on Tuesday a forest camp was set on fire in retaliation by angry locals after the firing incident and in Shillong there is palpable tension in the air.
