The day began early and Opposition leaders accused the central government of trying to hack into their phones after receiving warning messages from Apple. Apple's alert said it believed the recipient was "being targeted by state-sponsored attackers". It did not specify who the attackers could be. The government hit back with ministers dismissing the charges, calling it destructive politics and adding that these MPs are compulsive critics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The tech giant later issued a statement saying it "does not attribute the notifications to any specific state-sponsored attacker" and that some notifications may be false alarms. However, the alert has raised multiple alarms and questions.
