This was in response to Pakistan summoning the Indian envoy over the arrest of the man identified as Kulbushan Jadev, a man Pakistan says is an Indian naval officer spying for the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). India has categorically denied these charges of spying, on a day when a special investigation team from Pakistan was given visas to travel to Pathankot. There are reports of violence in police custody, and parents have accused the university of not informing them of the arrests. The Vice Chancellor has issued a letter refuting rumours that his office was responsible for cutting off electricity and water, or that he met with political leaders on or off campus.
