What's Behind Kerala's Backlog Covid Deaths?

Since October 2021, Kerala has added nearly 20,000 deaths as backlog COVID deaths – that’s around 35% of the total Covid deaths in Kerala. Kerala was among several states like Maharashtra and Rajasthan that were pulled up by the Supreme Court for receiving appeals for Covid compensation, that were far less than the total death counts.
