Despite the Election Commission's strict vigil, high-powered candidates in Karnataka's elections are finding new ways of inducing voters. NDTV reports on a battle of timepieces, where Congress heavyweight DK Shivakumar has been accused of distributing lakhs of watches inscribed with his and Rajiv Gandhi's image. Shiva Kumar didn't deny the charge but claimed that he has been doing this for months, well before the election. In fact, he produced proof to show that his rival candidate from the JDS is doing the same.
