Vizag Plant Shut For 40 Days Due To Lockdown: NDRF Director General

NDRF Director General Satya Narayan Pradhan spoke exclusively to NDTV's Vishnu Som on the Vizag Chemical Plant gas leak where 11 people, including 2 children, were killed and over 1,000 are ill after gas leaked overnight. Around 25 are critical, the NDRF said, declaring the incident a chemical disaster. Toxic Styrene gas escaped from an LG Polymers facility that had been shut for over 40 days. Mr Pradhan said that the plant was shut for 40 days due to the lockdown and it is a matter of investigation about how this incident was triggered.
