'Uncle, can you hear us?' Protester in photo with Constable Tomar shares her story

The protests have dissipated this week, but how Mr Tomar, 46, died has become the insalubrious point of dispute between the police and its critics. The police say he was injured so severely by demonstrators that he had a heart attack and died as a result of being hit by blunt objects; two eyewitnesses, both photographed as they helped Mr Tomar, disagree.
