The Government of Andhra Pradesh has envisaged a comprehensive welfare programe for all families living Below the Poverty Line (BPL family) in the State. The "Pedalanadariki Illu" scheme, one among the nine schemes being implemented as part of the Navaratnalu Programme literally translates as "Housing for All the Poor". It can be stated that this Housing Scheme of the Government of Andhra Pradesh would stand as a Light House Scheme in the Country guaranteeing BPL families the "Right to Secure and Healthy Living".
