Roads are practically non-existent and road connectivity to Sikkim has been completely snapped. The swollen Teesta River has come onto the roads, submerging cars and homes on its banks. The river has left behind slush and sludge in the aftermath of the flash flood. Restoring road connectivity will be a massive challenge for the authorities.
