Early morning walkers at Kolkata's Victoria Memorial stopped and stared at a group of 33 women, dressed mostly in plain white, burst into an impromptu song and dance at the gate. They are the widows living in Vrindavan and Varanasi enjoying a special day that the United Nations has dedicated to them, June 23, every year since 2010. International Widows Day, a day to forget the pain, the loss and the hurt of being forsaken.
