After more than two years, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has decided on whether the seven people convicted for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi should be released early. The decision: It's President Ram Nath Kovind's decision. The order on the release of the seven convicts - a hugely sensitive issue in Tamil Nadu - is a setback for the state's ruling AIADMK party months ahead of elections in the state.
