Police Horse Dies Of Heart Attack After Firecrackers Set Off At Eden Gardens

A horse deployed on crowd control duties at the Eden Garden Cricket Stadium precincts on Sunday died due to a heart attack. Police sources say several horses were injured as fire crackers suddenly went off at a lower height than usual. Police are investigating if proper clearances and permissions were taken for setting off the fireworks. Voice Of Regence which had joined the country's oldest mounted police force in February this year died of a heart attack within hours of the incident.
