It's another first for an expat Indian. Lord Swaraj Paul has become the deputy speaker of the House of Lords. Little did Swaraj Paul imagine that he would hold one of the highest positions any Indian immigrant has held in the British parliament one day, when he migrated to London from Jalandhar in the 1960s. Paul, a leading businessman with an annual turnover of 1.5 billion pounds has been a member of the House of Lords for 13 years.
