Ayodhya has turned fortress ahead of massive mobilisation of support today to press for the building of Ram temple. Right-wing group Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP ally Shiv Sena are both holding rallies in the temple town today. Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who has been in Ayodhya since yesterday, warned that unless the temple is built, the BJP would find itself out of power. Right-wing groups have been demanding that the government pass an ordinance or executive order to bypass the legal process. The Ayodhya title suit is pending in the Supreme Court, which will decide on a date of hearing in January.
