With the Congress and the Trinamool deciding to fight the Lok Sabha elections jointly in West Bengal, the Left Front in the state is gearing up for a tough fight. Announcing its candidates in Kolkata on Tuesday, the Left Front chairman admitted as much, though he disputed Jyoti Basu's recent comment that the number of Left seats could actually fall because of the Congress-Trinamool alliance.
