In Kerala's rural Thiruvananthapuram, the ruling CPI(M)'s parassala area committee organised a massive cultural performance on Tuesday, with over 500 participants in the run up to the party's district conference. Organisers claim social distancing was maintained but visuals tell another story. The latest Covid restrictions by ruling Left government do not ban physical gatherings for social-cultural-political reasons, but recommends for it to be held online. The daily Covid cases in state capital Thiruvananthapuram have hit a 4-month high as positivity rate crosses 22%.
