"Government Said I Was Free, Cops Not Letting Me Out": Politician Saifuddin Soz To NDTV

Congress leader and former Union Minister Saifuddin Soz is "free and not under detention," the Jammu and Kashmir administration told the Supreme Court, which was hearing a petition by the politician's wife asking for his release from "illegal detention" and for him to be brought to the court. The Supreme Court accepted the administration's statement and closed the case. Hours later, Saifuddin Soz was not allowed by policemen posted at his home in Srinagar to come out or speak to the media. "Police are not letting me come out. In court, the government said I was free, can go anywhere. These soldiers are stopping me, they are watching me. Tell this to the Supreme Court," he told NDTV from behind the gate of this house.
