GC Murmu, Who Quit As J&K Lt Governor, Is Comptroller And Auditor General

GC Murmu, who resigned two days ago as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir, has been appointed as the country's new auditor general. Mr Murmu had resigned from his post in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday and Manoj Sinha was appointed as his successor. The post of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) was expected to fall vacant this week as incumbent Rajiv Mehrishi turns 65. The Comptroller and Auditor General is a constitutional post and cannot be left vacant.
