G20's Push For Digital Public Infrastructure

While India's G20 Presidency has been an outlier for several reasons and will shape future global decisions on several fronts, one particular area that has been successfully pushed by India is digital public infrastructure or DPIs. For the first time ever, the G20 reached a global consensus on what ought to be DPIs definition, framework, and principles. For the first time ever, DPIs have been adopted by the G20 under India's presidency. But this sounds complicated, let's decode one by one. First things first, what really is DPI? Digital Public Infrastructure i.e. DPI means any digital platform through which fast and secure service delivery can be provided to the people. And as its public, it is backed by the government for the benefit of the citizens and both the private and public sectors. In India, we call the collection of these the India stack.
