Sarbananda Sonowal, 53, took oath on Tuesday evening as Chief Minister of Assam at the head of the BJP's first government in the North East. Present, in a massive show of strength, were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and 14 chief ministers of states ruled by the BJP and its allies. However, two major allies - the Shiv Sena and the PDP - didn't turn up.
