The Ministry of External Affairs will lodge a strong protest with the Italian envoy over the two marines charged with killing two Kerala fishermen at sea last year, sources have told NDTV. The envoy, who has been summoned by the government for explanation over a note saying the two marines will not come back to India, will be told that the marines must return in accordance with the commitment given to the Supreme Court. The marines, who were out on bail in New Delhi, were permitted by the Supreme Court to spend four weeks at home to vote in national elections.
