Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said today that social media platforms should follow the country's laws. In an exclusive interview to NDTV in the backdrop of a lawsuit against Meta -- which also operates Facebook -- by more than 40 US states, the Information and Technology Minister underscored that so far, the world has focussed on the good sides of these platforms, and now it is time to open our eyes to the negative aspects. He also said the days of "free pass" and "immunity" to social media platforms are over and strict accountability will be enforced.
