The family members of those who died in the suicide attack on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi have objected to the Tamil Nadu cabinet's recommendation to release seven people convicted in the assassination case. The family members say they have gone through immense pain over the loss of their loved ones and the convicts should not be freed. Human rights defenders have, however, said the convicts should be given a second chance as jail time is also meant to reform people.
