Court Orders Students To End Dharna At Visva Bharati

Oil on the troubled waters of the central Visva Bharati University in Bengal? Or fresh fuel for fires there? The Calcutta High Court has ordered no more dharnas on campus but students can continue protests 50 metres away from all university property. Three students were recently rusticated. Protesters want that order rolled back and sat on dharna at the gates of the vice chancellor's house on 27th August. The university went to court. Admissions and results were put on hold due to the agitation, unprecedented at the university Rabindra Nath Tagore founded at Shantiniketan.
