Cops Hold Candles, Joined By Families As Protest Rolls Into Night

Clashes between the police and lawyers in Delhi over the weekend spun out of control today as hundreds of policemen held a protest outside the Delhi police headquarters, demanding justice and protection. They have refused to budge despite repeated requests from their top officers. Service rules bar policemen from holding protests; the unprecedented demonstration had the Centre on its toes and caught the attention of the courts.
