Boeing has frozen MAX 737 production after the January 5 incident on an Alaska Airlines plane. The US air regulator said that it would not allow Boeing to expand 737 MAX production in the wake of the major mid-air emergency on an Alaska Airlines jet, but the MAX 9 model involved could return to service after inspections. The US regulator's curbs could also prove to be a significant blow to Indian airlines.
