Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has hit out at the BJP, accusing it of trying to "import" the beef controversy into the state which goes to polls next week. "This (beef) is a non-issue for us... they (BJP) don't have any agenda," Mr Kumar said, accusing the BJP of trying to polarize the state along communal lines. The JD(U) leader's remarks come after the BJP launched an aggressive attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad - who is part of the anti-BJP coalition led by Mr Kumar - over his remarks on eating beef.
