Pravin Nishad, the candidate supported by the Samajwadi Party in Gorakhpur, today spoke of a "bigger alliance" if the Samajwadi Party, which has pulled off an electoral arrangement with arch rival Mayawati, wins. Under the pact, for the first time in 25 years, the arch rivals are on the same side to stop the BJP march - an understanding that was seen as a dry run that could pave the way for a larger opposition unity for the 2019 general elections.
