Assam Urges Centre For CBI Probe In Kokrajhar Student Leader's Murder

Assam government today wrote to the CBI requesting for an inquiry into the murder of student leader Lafiqul Islam Ahmed in Kokrajhar. The state government has already formed a Special Investigation Team or SIT headed by senior IPS Officer Anurag Tankhar - who has previously worked with National Investigation Agency - to inquire into the killing of Mr Ahmed, who was president of the All-BTC Minority Students' Union (ABMSU).
