The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha held a meeting in Lakhimpur chaired by farmer leaders Rakesh Tikait and Shiv Kumar Kakka. They have decided to approach the Supreme Court over the bail to a Union Minister's son, Ashish Mishra, who has been accused of hitting farmers with his SUV during a protest in UP's Lakhimpur. The farmers alleged the prosecution was under pressure to present a weak case and that led to the bail.
