Partition, a 70-year-old scar that hasn't faded, was one of Saadat Hasan Manto's main preoccupations. His short stories, written descriptively but never explicitly, detail the trauma of this event. Fouzia Dastango uses the Urdu art of storytelling or Dastangoi to bring together her life and Mr Manto's stories to comment on India today.
